Sad this place closed. I was surprisingly delighted by their brunch (given that I'm not a huge Tex Mex fan). They had some delicious breakfast tacos and enchiladas -- and gave you some free chips to munch on while waiting for the food.

I've been here several times and, sadly, it will be closing. Their food is quite tex-mex style but it isn't the reason I go here. Their drink menu is an amazing experience because of their different styles of margaritas. I hope by some miracle they can stay open but before it closes, I would suggest you go. Try all the appetizers and their queso. Sitting in the bar area is what I would choose FYI. Also, the service has always been a solid 4/5 throughout the years.

West of Pecos is Tex-Mex. Don't come here expecting authentic, regional Mexican - it simply isn't that, and especially- isn't trying to be that. I've had a fair amount of the items on the menu, and while it isn't the most/bestest texmex / mexi-Cali on earth, it's pretty darn okay & I feel just about everyone can find something they'll enjoy on the menu. My go to is the farm girl salad - something about the dressing, crunchy bits (jicama, quinoa, sugar snap peas) *chef's kiss*. They've taken this off the menu a few times, but with enough people asking "where'd it go? Will it come back???" they listened to the people & brought it back! Happy hour margarita - I believe $7 each m-f 4:30-6! 6 stars! The place doesn't really fill up until 5:30/6 aka pretty darn easy to walk in for happy hour most days with no wait. They used to have frozen margaritas, but earlier this year they said wait until summer, now it's summer and...the machine is broken. Sigh. I'd consider changing this review to 5 stars if I got my frozen margs back. + for the spicy tajin/salt rim though!

Been here twice now, and enjoyed both experiences here overall. Came here first time for dinner. Shared the corn bread skillet, got a burger, and partner got something else that I can't remember. We also got a couple cocktails. Disclaimer, first visit was at the end of 2021, second visit was just a few weeks ago for brunch. Definitely had a good enough impression that we wanted to come back, even tho it took us about a year and a half. Been wanting to come eat here for brunch since we saw their brunch menu in 2022. Unfortunately since then they've trimmed their menu down to just about 5 items. This was about half the menu items they previously had for brunch. I ordered the churros, cornflake crusted fried chicken breasts with mole, and my partner got the enchiladas with pork shoulder, side of rice and beans, order of chips & salsa. and we each had a cocktail. Fried chicken and churros with mole was such a fab twist on the classic chicken and waffles. Though it was breast, the chicken was moist and juicy, great crisp from the cornflakes. Churros were sweet and light and fluffy, and the mole really brought the trio together. The enchiladas were also fantastic, very flavorful, yet balanced, and pork shoulder was super tender. Cocktails always on point here though I don't know what even half of what's in them actually is. Only thing is service was a lil lopsided, host helped us most, and chips came out way later after our entrees though they were just sitting there for a while waiting to be picked up. Restaurant wasn't packed, and this is the thing I find underwhelming about the ambiance, neither time were there very many people here. Shame cuz the food is good, but the exterior is lacking a sense of invitation, all surrounding restaurants have parklet seating, but outside of west of Pecos has seating, but it's just very dark and gives off a cold feeling. Overall a good time. Clean bathrooms too
